Over five hundred years ago, the Inca placed shaped stones together to build walls that stand to this day. Yesterday, our PLB team of remarkable women planted a garden and placed stones to create a path, a patio and a mosaic heart for the children at Hogar Semillas de Jesus. May these children benefit from the seeds we planted, may they find a path to happiness, and may they feel hope and love that lasts forever.”

“Through Project Left Behind, my trip to Peru was like no other I had taken before. Voluntouring gave me the unique and once in a lifetime opportunity to improve the lives of children in need—as well as appreciate and learn of the beautiful and indigenous culture of Peru. By lending a helping hand—from collecting and delivering donations, to applying a fresh coat of paint to the children’s home, to procuring new mattresses and playing soccer with the kids—we all bonded over delicious meals (like homemade chicha morada and ají de gallina), unforgettable conversation (affording me the chance to practice my Spanish as well as learn a few words in Quechua), and lots of laughter!”
